Kolthare beach from one of my best beach in Konkan. I never heard this name earlier so I searched it on Google map and it looked nice. Kolthare is approximately 20 km away from Dapoli, 15 km ahead on the Ladghar beach road. Surprisingly no one knows Kolthare beach other than locals and very few konkan explorers.
Kolthare is a small village located deep inside the western ghat jungle. There are 2 approach roads to Kolthare out of which one is the shortest and most adventurous one. But if you are travel freak, try it. Other is usual route which ST bus and other transport follows. unfortunately sign boards are very less and hence you may need to take help from locals or use GPS (Make sure you search location when you are in range). There is no mobile range in Kolthare, so make all your calls from Dapoli and leave for peaceful Kolthare.
KONKANMEWA RESORT STAY – It is one of best resort to Stay. We are serving best konkani Food and Panjabee food. Rates are normal for both Stay and Food. Beach is approx 600 meter near from resort.
Beach – As there are very few travelers, beach is clean. Its mix white and black sand beach. It is safe beach to get into sea. At times you may be the alone on beach as this is not much known destination. Beach is around 1 – 1.5 km long which is good enough. You might get to watch dolphins early morning from shore. There are no other activities present so far like boating, water sports. Get your volley ball or cricket bat ball and enjoy. You may enjoy peaceful beach walk late night. Please do not litter here (Clean India).
Other attractions near by Kolthare:
1. Kothleshwar temple: Temple of lord Shiva, it is the Kuldaivat of many families. Temple is big, clean. Do not enter if you had non-veg or had drinks.
2. Parashuram Bhoomi: Amazing place. There is a big Parashurama Statue on half earth model/dome. There is a Dhyan Mandir inside dome. Make a point here, you can literally hear a sound of falling Pin inside. This is a must visit place and right on the road to kolthare.
3. Ladghar beach: There are many water sports activities, food, paragliding facilities here. Plan is while going to or coming back from Kolthare (You may love to stay at ladghar as wel).
4. Dabhol backwater and Fish Market – Though I did not been to, I would suggest a visit here too.
5. Dapoli – Harne Karade Murud Beaches, Suwarndurga (Sea Fort)
